Forest of Bowland Events

he night skies over Bowland have been recognized as some of the darkest in England and the AONB has a number of locations which have been granted official status as Dark Sky Discovery Sites.

As part of our Dark Skies Festival we are hosting an illustrated, online talk highlighting light pollution, its effects on human health and wildlife, and what solutions are at hand.

The event will take place on the evening Thursday 17th February and will be delivered by Steve Tonkin, Dark Sky Advisor with Cranborne Chase AONB (an International Dark Sky Reserve).

Tickets for this free talk, which begins at 7pm, can be booked via the TryBooking website at https://www.trybooking.co.uk/BIOU

Bleasdale Parish is situated in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It includes the settlement of Oakenclough on its Western side and has traditionally included the Goosnargh area between Beacon Fell and the River Brock.
